Relaxation helps us in almost every area of life. It is especially important for those of us who are “workaholics”, or alternatively, those of us who spend even their leisure time engaged in “productive activities”. It is important to realize that relaxation in itself is productive. It is not something to feel guilty about doing, but rather something to feel guilty about not doing. It can take the form of looking for new relaxing activities, or of calming down and taking more pleasure in your existing activities, such as cooking for example. At the end of a day, I like to point to at about 3 hours of time which I have considered relaxing. This practice has given me a much happier and fulfilling life.
